Warehouse Staff Member

Pine Creek Seed Farm is looking for a warehouse staff member who is dependable with a strong work ethic and can perform tasks involving physical labor. Duties include move, locate, relocate, stack, and count stock with the assistance of a forklift or other power equipment. Also responsible for working with package line bagging and tagging seed bags. A part time position could be in play for the right candidate that may have that interest.

Major Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for loading and stacking seed onto pallets for shipments

  • Picking and preparing bagged seed for shipment

  • Operate various types of equipment on packaging line; bagging and tagging seed bags

  • Perform inventory controls and keep quality standards high for audits

  • Prepare and complete orders for delivery or pickup according to schedule (pick, pack, wrap, label, ship)

  • Operate all equipment in a safe and efficient manner per company policies

  • Operate a forklift moving seed in and out of storage locations accurately and without damage to items

  • Unload inbound and outbound shipments safely and efficiently (unload, label, store)

  • Some farm work

  • Maintain work area and equipment in a neat, clean, and orderly fashion

  • Inspect and perform minor maintenance on power equipment

  • Perform other duties as assigned or requested

Job Qualifications:

  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent

  • Experience: 2 years of related warehouse experience

  • License/Certification: Valid PA driver's license; OSHA Forklift Training certificate preferred

  • Ability to pass a background check and pre-employment drug screening

 

Skills:

  • Excellent communication skills

  • Ability to follow directions

  • Require minimal supervision

  • Stand for long periods of time and ability to lift 40-60 LBS

  • Experience operating a forklift

  • Equipment maintenance
